Boston Truck FAQ

Be sure to read the guidelines at the bottom of the page!

Adapted from Videogasm's Truck Page because it seemed like a good start and they have done this before.

Q: What's the deal with this truck?

A: We are renting a 24 foot Ryder and will depart from the Boston area. We will not make any other pickup stops.

Q: How big is it?

A: Approximately 1500 cubic feet with a 11000 pound capacity.  Space is very tight, pack efficiently!

Q: When is the truck leaving and arriving at the playa?

A: The truck will leave our loading/unloading/storage space 8/22for a 8/25 or 2/26 arrival in Black Rock City. There will be no other pickup stops.

Q: How much will it cost?

A: Around 250.00 per person. Please read over the truck sign up page for up to date information. It is looking like everyone will get about 100 cubic feet. Some people might take more space, some people might take less. It should all balance out. Bikes are $75.00 each, and we have room for a few more.

Q: When is the money due?

A: ASAP!
Remember: your space is not officially reserved until we receive your check!

Q: Is it too late to jump in on the truck?

A: Yes. It is too late.

Q: Who/where do I make payment to?

Send a check to:

Ernest Wagner

6 Marie Avenue

Apartment #2

Cambridge, MA 02139

Important!  Make checks payable to Ernest Wagner. I will not cash the checks until August. Make sure you include your address and phone number so I can contact you.

Q: Will the truck be making other stops other than the Boston pickup??

A: No, you are responsible for getting your stuff to the location mentioned in the e-mail you received.

Q: So when can I drop off my stuff?

A: Read the e-mail I sent you. If you did not get this, mail xxxxxx, and I'll send you the info.

Q: Who will load the truck?

A: We will need volunteers to do this on 8/21 and 8/22

Q: OK, so where in Black Rock City can I get my stuff?

A: Gnomefatty Camp

Q: When is the truck leaving Black Rock City?

A: In the afternoon of Monday, September 3rd.  You will need to be around in order to help re-pack your stuff. If you are not there to help re-pack your stuff, you might have to find another way to get it home.

Q: When will the truck arrive back in Boston?

A: Sometime on September 6th or 7th. I need to work this out with our drivers.

Q: Where will the truck be unloaded?

A: Everything will be unloaded to it's point of origin. You will be expected to pick up your stuff when the truck arrives. We will not dispose of what you packed in. Lets not have a repeat of what happened in Baltimore 1999. Be responsible. We are not going to haul away for your trash. We stalk you and make your life a living hell if you to this.

Q: How long do I have to pick up my stuff in Boston?

A: A few days.  We are not running a free storage facility.  Plan on getting your stuff ASAP or we will get our thugs after you..
